Associated Press: Палата представителей США одобрила два законопроекта о борьбе с нелегальной иммиграцией, далее их рассмотрит Сенат.
 
Первый законопроект должен ограничить финансирование «городов-убежищ», которые препятствуют передаче нелегальных мигрантов федеральным властям. Второй законопроект призван усилить наказание за повторный незаконный въезд на территорию Соединенных Штатов.
 
Большинство, поддержавшее законопроект, – республиканцы, которые обеспокоены проблемой национальной и общественной безопасности. 
 
Президент США поддержал решение Палаты представителей и призвал Сенат рассмотреть и одобрить данные законопроекты, чтобы «сохранить жизни американцев».
