Акции Tesla упали на 6% во вторник после заявлений Дональда Трампа о том, что он «должен будет рассмотреть» депортацию Маска, родившегося в Южной Африке. Это отражает рост напряженности между ними, вызванный разногласиями по поводу государственных субсидий для электромобилей.


Трамп заявил, что Маск «возможно, получает больше государственной помощи, чем кто-либо в истории» и предположил, что без нее предприниматель был бы вынужден закрыть бизнес и вернуться в Южную Африку. Он также пригрозил отменой субсидий для проектов Маска и предложил Департаменту правительственной эффективности проверить финансирование, связанное с запуском ракет, спутников и производством электромобилей.


Конфликт начался после критики Маском республиканского плана отмены налоговых льгот, предусматривающих кредит $7500 для приобретения электромобилей.
