According to the Hong Kong news portal HK01, the losses of the world's largest semiconductor manufacturer TSMC due to earthquakes in Taiwan are estimated at about $60 million. This is due to the need to evacuate workers, although the impact of the disaster on the company is estimated to be limited.

Earlier, Taiwan's Central News Agency reported that TSMC evacuated its staff from factories and construction sites to ensure their safety. After confirming the safety of the working conditions, the staff will return to work.

An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 struck off the coast of Hualien County on the eastern part of Taiwan Island, followed by a series of strong aftershocks. Although some buildings were damaged, the total number of victims and injured remains relatively low.

Taiwan is one of the world's largest semiconductor manufacturers, and TSMC, which became the world's largest in terms of revenue last year, plays a key role in this industry.
