Spotřebitelská důvěra v USA se v květnu prudce zotavila

Podle nových údajů organizace The Conference Board se spotřebitelská důvěra v květnu zotavila a ukončila tak pětiměsíční pokles.

Index spotřebitelské důvěry vyskočil o 12,3 bodu na 98,0, což představuje nárůst oproti dubnové hodnotě 85,7 a překonání konsensuálního odhadu 87,1.

Index očekávání, který měří krátkodobý výhled spotřebitelů, mezitím vzrostl o 17,4 bodu na 72,8, zatímco index současné situace vzrostl o 4,8 bodu na 135,9.

„Důvěra spotřebitelů se v květnu po pěti měsících poklesu zlepšila,“ uvedla Stephanie Guichard, senior ekonomka The Conference Board. „Oživení bylo patrné již před uzavřením obchodní dohody mezi USA a Čínou 12. května, ale poté nabralo na síle.“
