S americkým ministrem obchodu Howardem Lutnickem se během středečního telefonátu shodli na zintenzivnění jednání o možné obchodní dohodě. V rámci vyjednávání nabízí EU Spojeným státům například nulová vzájemná cla na veškeré průmyslové zboží, tedy i na automobily, Washington na to zatím nepřistoupil.
