From a technical point of view, analysts expect spot gold to test the support level at $3,296, and a breakdown below this level could lead to a decline to $3,262. Gold is traditionally viewed as a safe haven asset in an environment of uncertainty and low interest rates. According to official data, the central bank of China increased its gold reserves for the seventh consecutive time in May. At the same time, the spot price of silver rose 0.2% to $36.03 per ounce; platinum rose 1.6% to $1,187.80; palladium fell 0.1% to $1,045.61.
