Brent is trading at $66 per barrel

Oil quotes remained stable on Monday morning amid expectations of talks between the presidents of the United States and Ukraine.

October Brent futures on ICE Futures fluctuate near the level of $66 per barrel, September WTI futures on the NYMEX rose to $62.46, after falling to $61.70 in the previous session.

The main factor for the market remains geopolitics. A meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky will take place in Washington today, which may also be attended by European leaders. The talks are expected to focus on resolving the conflict with Russia.

Trump said that the war could end quickly if Kiev renounced its claims to Crimea and plans to join NATO. «Zelensky can stop the war almost immediately if he wants to, or continue fighting,» he wrote on Truth Social. The American president also noted «great progress» following recent talks with Vladimir Putin and added that he did not yet see the need to impose new sanctions against Russia. 

Analysts note that the White House has temporarily abandoned the idea of «secondary tariffs» for buyers of Russian energy resources, including China.
