In 2017, 75,825 primates, mostly from China and India, were used for research. Animal rights activists, on the contrary, welcome the restrictions. At the same time, Mattel is forced to offset $270 million in tariff costs, which will lead to higher prices for Barbie dolls. The US president said that 3-4 types of dolls are enough for American children to reduce their dependence on China. The tariffs also affected Apple: iPhone models manufactured in China may rise in price by 43%. This threatens the company's position and creates a chance for Samsung, whose products are less susceptible to duties. Trump's policies are increasingly being criticized as harming rather than protecting the U.S. economy.
