Gasoline inventories increased by 5.87 million barrels and amounted to 246.62 million barrels. Distillate stocks decreased by 1.43 million barrels to 127.95 million barrels. Experts, on the contrary, expected a decrease in crude oil reserves by 1.75 million barrels, an increase in gasoline reserves by 2.6 million barrels and a drop in distillate reserves by 1.3 million barrels.
