The EU has prepared a second list of countermeasures against US goods with a total value of 72 billion euros ($84 billion). It includes Boeing Co. aircraft, automobiles, bourbon, as well as engineering products, chemicals, plastics, medical equipment, electronics, wines, and agricultural goods. These measures may be introduced in response to the escalating trade dispute between Brussels and Washington. The document, consisting of 206 pages, was developed by the European Commission. Initially, it was planned to impose duties on American goods worth 95 billion euros, but after consultations with businesses and EU member states, the volume was reduced. The final decision requires agreement between the States of the Union. These measures are seen as a response to tariffs previously imposed by the United States. The Trump administration has imposed 20% tariffs on many imported goods, as well as additional charges of 25% for cars and their components. Later, these rates were temporarily lowered to 10% to allow for negotiations.
