Согласно данным Министерства труда США, число первичных заявок на пособие по безработице в стране за неделю, завершившуюся 30 мая, снизилось на 249 тысяч и составило 1,877 миллиона. Показатель предыдущей недели был зафиксирован на уровне 2,126. Эксперты прогнозировали снижение показателя на 323 тысячи, до 1,8 миллиона. 


Общее количество получающих пособие по безработице в США за неделю выросло на 649 тысяч, до 21,487 миллиона человек. 


Число заявок на пособие по безработице в США упало ниже 2 миллионов впервые с середины марта, однако оно по-прежнему остается очень высоким.
