Facebook официально представила свою криптовалюту Libra

Компания Facebook выступила с официальным заявлением о запуске собственной криптовалюты под названием Libra. В ее создании будут участвовать операторы платежных систем Visa Inc., Mastercard Inc., PayPal Holding Inc., а также Uber Technologies Inc. и ряд других крупных компаний. Основная цель конгломерата – создать «безопасную, масштабируемую и надежную криптовалюту».


Помимо этого Facebook создала дочернюю компанию Calibra, которая будет заниматься разделением финансовых и социальных данных. Именно сервис Calibra будет обеспечивать работу криптовалюты. Представители компании сообщили, что на ее базе будет создан цифровой кошелек, который позволит расплачиваться за онлайн-покупки при помощи Libra.


Система цифровых платежей позволит пользователям Facebook отправлять деньги друг другу, делать покупки на ее платформе и в Интернете в целом.
