The index of business activity in the US industry in June rose to 52.6%

According to the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), the US index of business activity in the US industry rose to 52.6% in June from 43.1% in May. Analysts polled by Reuters expected the indicator to grow only to 49.5%.


In addition, the employment index in the country's industry in June rose to 42.1% from the level of May at 32.1%. Experts had expected growth to 43%.


The index of business activity in industry is calculated monthly by a survey of managers. A figure below the 50% mark indicates a decline in business activity in the manufacturing sector, above – about its growth.
