Общее число случаев заболевания коронавирусом во всем мире превысило 9,7 миллиона, из которых 2,5 миллиона приходится на Соединенные Штаты и 1,2 миллиона – на Бразилию.  Вирус быстро распространяется по всей Латинской Америке, причем в Мексике, Чили, Перу и Колумбии число инфицированных растет тысячами каждый день.

Рынок труда США находится под давлением, поскольку в настоящее время в нескольких штатах наблюдаются массовые вспышки коронавируса и власти должны будут сохранить существующие блокировки или полностью возобновить ограничения, чтобы сдержать распространение вируса.

Вчера инвесторы были приятно удивлены более высоким, чем ожидалось, отчетом о покупках товаров длительного пользования в США и более низкими, чем прогнозировалось, продолжающимися заявками на безработицу. При этом число первоначальных заявок на получение пособий по безработице увеличилось.

Федеральная резервная США система ужесточает ограничения для частных банков, так как вспышка коронавируса может стоить им еще 700 млрд долларов убытков. Банки прошли последний стресс-тест регулятора, но Центральный банк рекомендует им оставаться финансово консервативными в течение следующих нескольких месяцев, пока экономика США справляется с пандемией.
