Lockheed Martin získal 509 milionů dolarů na rozšíření výroby satelitů GPS III

Společnost Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) se sídlem v Littletonu v Coloradu získala zakázku v hodnotě 509 759 501 dolarů na úpravu kontraktu na výrobu kosmických vozidel Global Positioning System III Follow-On Space Vehicles 21 a 22. Touto úpravou se celková hodnota kontraktu zvyšuje na 4 102 235 382 dolarů.

Práce, které zahrnují vývoj těchto kosmických vozidel, budou prováděny v Littletonu v Coloradu. Projekt má být dokončen do listopadu 2031. V době udělení kontraktu byly na nákup raket v rozpočtovém roce 2025 vyčleněny prostředky ve výši 55 035 868 dolarů.

Úprava smlouvy byla zadána Velitelstvím kosmických systémů se sídlem v Los Angeles v Kalifornii. Velitelství kosmických systémů je odpovědné za nákup kosmických operací a systémů pro armádu Spojených států. Tato úprava je součástí probíhající smlouvy (FA8807‐18‐C‐0009), která byla dříve zadána společnosti Lockheed Martin.
