The decrease in interest in gold is due to an improvement in investor sentiment caused by strong corporate reports and economic indicators. Retail sales for June exceeded forecasts, underscoring the resilience of the U.S. economy. These data strengthened the dollar and increased expectations that the Fed would not cut rates. Expectations of maintaining rates were also supported by stable June inflation data. During the week, the dollar rose 0.7%, for the second time in a row. However, demand from central banks remains strong. In May, global reserves increased by 20 tons, which is higher than in April, but below the annual average of 27 tons, according to data from the World Gold Council.
