Несмотря на продолжающуюся пандемию коронавируса, которая оказывает огромное давление на спрос на нефть во всем мире, похоже, что основные нефтедобывающие страны больше заботятся о своих проблемах друг с другом, чем о стабилизации рынка.

После того как Россия, которая не является членом ОПЕК, решила больше не ограничивать добычу нефти началась ценовая война. Саудовская Аравия, неофициальный лидер ОПЕК, первой отказалась от почти 4-летнего потолка добычи и заполонила рынок своей нефтью. В результате фьючерсы на нефть упали примерно с $55 до менее чем $30 за баррель.

Текущие цены на нефть сильнее всего вредят нефтяным компаниям из США, поскольку затраты на производство сланцевой нефти гораздо выше. Американские компании пересматривают свои прогнозы в сторону понижения и, скорее всего, сократят добычу. Кроме того, США и Саудовская Аравия также могут договориться о сокращении добычи для поддержания цен на нефть.

Пока такого соглашение нет, и цены на нефть продолжают падение. Нефть марки WTI упала до $ 22,55, в то время как нефть марки Brent сегодня достигла $26,02.

Если США не сядут за стол переговоров, то вместо этого они могут ударить по России и Саудовской Аравии новыми санкциями.
