Сегодня гонконгские рынки пережили внезапный обвал из-за новой волны протестов в Гонконге. По последним данным было несколько пострадавших, после того как подконтрольная Китаю полиция начала стрелять по протестующим.

Прошло несколько месяцев с тех пор, как в Гонконге вспыхнули протесты на фоне скандального закона, который позволил бы Китаю преследовать политических беженцев в автономном Гонконге. Независимый город является крупным финансовым и туристическим центром, но из-за насилия и срыва работы общественного транспорта его экономика в последние месяцы постепенно ухудшается.

Между тем в настоящее время Китай сосредоточен на торговых переговорах с США. На прошлой неделе США заявили, что отменят тарифы на китайские товары, при этом Дональд Трамп и Си Цзиньпин пока не договорились где и когда встретятся, чтобы подписать соглашение.

Кроме того, ранее Трамп настаивал на том, чтобы Китай уважал независимость Гонконга, и что он не подпишет соглашение, если протесты не будут решены мирным путем. В свете применения полицией боеприпасов и слезоточивого газа неясно, захочет ли Трамп вообще встретиться со своим китайским коллегой.
