Приближается крайний срок переговоров по Brexit между представителями Соединенного Королевства и Европейского Союза. Из-за пандемии переговоры затягиваются: прошло почти полгода, а стороны далеки от заключения соглашения. По словам официальных лиц, в настоящее время между сторонами существует много разногласий, и никто не намерен отступать.

В июне появится шанс договориться о продлении переговоров, но Борис Джонсон до сих пор был категорически против этого. Власти ЕС предупреждают, что если к октябрю не будет готово всеобъемлющее соглашение, тогда стороны не успеют его ратифицировать, чтобы он вступил в силу с 2021 года. Это означает «жесткий» Brexit, поскольку у Соединенного Королевства вообще нет торговых договоров с государствами-членами ЕС.
