A spokesman for the Polish government, Piotr Müller, said that the country's authorities have finally admitted that the completion of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is a settled issue. Earlier, Germany and the United States published a joint statement on measures to support Ukraine, European energy security and common goals for climate protection. The countries said that it is in the interests of Europe and Ukraine to continue the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine after 2024, for up to 10 years. Germany also announced its readiness to impose sanctions on Russia if it uses energy as a weapon against European countries.
